Was going off like a bunch off paps outside a posh nightclub in Mayfair this morning as it got me and everyone else showing 80 on my speedo.

Do I need to unzip my jeans and bend over?

Variable limit stretch. What were the signs showing?

If no reduced limit was being displayed then no unzipping is necessary.

With that particular camera, if there was no VSL active and you really were only doing 80 then you'll be fine. Contrary to what certain "experts" here state, the HADECS cameras on the M25 will not ticket you below 80 provided there is no VSL active.

Not even the NSL signs on?

That's gotta be a clue that there were problems with the systems running it - so the cameras could well have been having a tantrum, too.

There was one on the northern section doing the same a while ago.

Edit: Forgot to say, while I was sat in traffic at the time

They normally only show NSL when leaving a reduced speed limit area or the reduction comes to an end

Much earlier in the year, but I was flashed by that camera at c.90 and never heard anything.

Gantry was completely dark but camera was flashing like a beacon cos everyone was doing 80 or more.

If it's active it must be coining it in.

Anticlockwise? Drove past it in the opposite direction at about 8am, still flashing like crazy, no VSL. Must be broken.

There were a couple around that stretch of the M25 going off seemingly at random on Sunday morning too - looks as if they caused a few brown trouser moments judging by some of the panic braking that went on...

...and on that note, it amazes me how many drivers will quite happily fly past a HADECS3-equipped gantry at comfortably above 10%+2 - even if every social media forum you've read says that they aren't active (or at least not at anything less than warp 8) unless a VSL limit is being shown, are people *really* that confident in the advice of complete strangers that they'd risk their licences by knowingly driving past a camera that fast???

That's right. I passed it around 630am heading anti clockwise.

Let's hope so or the government is in for a big windfall.
