Local shop to us painted white bays outside and put up signed saying people would be clamped - Staff Only.
The council came along after someone reported the owner and they made him remove the lines , the owner didn't and after a few week council man comes back and said you have until Friday to remove them or we will and send you the bill.
I assume someone could have also reported him for criminal damage.

If the driver has tried to apply for his own parking bay, I wouldn't be surprised if they're extremely frustrated. The reason I say is that when my father was alive, my parents applied for a parking bay outside their property.
I must have been about 8 or 9 and recall the chap from the council coming out to speak to my parents about it. Even for a kid his ideas were ridiculous and his proposal to concrete over their garden seemed to make more sense to him than having some lines painted on the road. It took a lot of back and forth bullsh!t before they finally approved it.
If this guy has just gone and painted it on a whim, that's a bit mental but perhaps it's a protest at having applied numerous times and the council not being too helpful.
