Addressed to M R Rostas
relating to car insurance taken out 291116
it asked for proof of ID,utility bills, proof of NCD
all four pages of V5 and a driving licence summary check code from DVLA

odd thing is Mr Rostas does not and has never resided here.
house a converted barn only 8 years old
no postal address before this date,
all previous home owners known to me.

I called RAC to advise them he does not and has never lived here.
the chap on the phone was quite knowing when i called with policy ID and gave the name on the letter, he said and can I get your name as there are alert markers all over this policy hence the letter, he said they would cancel policy, inform MID and the Police.

I wonder why use this address it would be quite random to find it.
are there any further concerns I should have relating to this ?

Out of curiosity what would merit an 'alert marker' for a breakdown policy?

Just incase it was missed hehe The RAC do offer more services than just breakdown cover.

It's quite popular to use rural and low crime areas to gain cheap insurance. For example,Scotland is a popular location of choice of those living in high risk locations such as Birmingham.

its an anti fraud measure.
insurance companies and lenders do it to check the applicant actually resides there where there is no sight of them on the voters roll or credit searches.

i'd suggest checking your own credit file from someone like www.noddle.co.uk or credit expert/experian just for peace of mind to ensure that there are no unusual credit applications which you were not expecting. very unlikely, but worth it if someone is trying to use your address.
