Quick back story on this.

BT mobile had a promotion when I took out my contract in November offering a £125 Amazon voucher, claimed this via their site on 10/11 and had conformation email stating I'd receive the voucher within 45 days. Spoke to an operator on live chat on day 44 asking if the voucher had been sent and was told the claim was successful and I'd have it within the next couple of days. Of course, it didn't arrive.

Emailed BT yesterday and was told again it was successful and to wait a few days as post is slow at this time of year. However received another email this morning stating that I was eligible but my claim was rejected as I hadn't submitted it properly(?). They've been nice enough to claim it for me on my behalf and told me to wait another 45 days to receive it...

Had a google earlier and there seems to be hundreds of people being given the same rubbish with most been waiting months with still no voucher received. Question is, what can I do to get them to pay up? Its a breach of contract as they haven't delivered it in the time frame they said they would and although its not worth getting too wound up about I'd rather have an extra £125 than not have it. I have thought of threatening to cancel my direct debit until the voucher has been received, what is the law around that?

Cheers

The BTCare Community Forums board is strewn with complaint threads. See this example. Some people have been waiting for resolution for longer than you.
It's not just this promotion BT has fcensoredd up. It has form for doing so time after time. Another disaster here. How it keeps its share of the domestic telecoms market only God knows.

As for what you can do, I have found the only way to get results with this utterly scensorede company is to deal direct with people at the London HQ.
Go direct to the top if you have to. Snail mail can be an effective tool: it can grab the attention better than one more e-mail lost in the torrent.

Can't do any harm to kick up a storm on Twitter as well.

Best of luck.

Very frustrating. I just kept on nagging and they came in the end.

Cheers for the links.

Amazing that they've been running this since 2015 yet still cannot get it right. Piss poor really.

I've always been under the impression that if you go in hard and early with these problems you gets results far quicker so want to make a fuss of it now. They've been surprisingly responsive over email today but still sticking to the story of a rejected claim and so having to wait another 45 days which I'm not going to take. Will head to twitter in the morning to continue the fight!

How did you pay, and how much was it for?

If you used a credit card and falls within s75, I have yet to have a card company tell me to get lost when I have passed the issue on to them when a retailer has being a little sluggish in resolving the problem.

Paid via debit card which was a mistake in hindsight. Contract is £55 a month and something like £90 upfront so fairly pricey. Expecting better service for £1400 over the term!

Twitter was useless. Was basically just told to wait until it arrives.

Phoned on the same day and was told the claim has been 'escalated' and I'd get a call back by 12 o'clock today but predictably haven't had one. Going to call this afternoon to find out if any progress has been made and if not refuse to end the call until there is some.

Will keep this thread updated until this is resolved, Hopefully might help anyone who is going through something similar with this useless company..

Call Made. They had no record of my call last week nor the escalation! Funny that.

Have now been told to wait until the 10th for someone to get in contact with me so realistically I can't go any further until when/if someone speaks to me about it. Will be 9 weeks from the claim date at this point.

If you see this deal advertised, don't go for it smile

I had a similar issue albeit for a smaller amount (£40 for a sim only contact). The vouchers did turn up eventually - hope yours do too.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Ours turned up OK and now resembles a bean to cup coffee machine. We got a load of individual voucher cards which I thought was odd rather than one for the full amount or even a piece of paper with a code on it. BT are a nightmare to deal with though.

My voucher situation is getting weird.

On 29th Nov I claimed.

No vouchers so in Jan I enquired. BT got back saying they had been sent 5th Jan and that I should have them no later than 20th.

You've guessed it, come 20th , still no vouchers.

I asked for BT for help and they've rung me three times. Twice to tell me they were chasing and this evening to tell me that I received the vouchers on 31st December!!

They were apparently sent "track & trace" and BT have provided me with a screen shot saying it was delivered to me or a neighbour and gives a unrecognisable signature which is not mine nor my wife's.

I have asked RM who needs to chase this, ie BT or me, and it would be helpful if BT would give the serial numbers, but of course they can't, data protection don't ya know.

So, collective, where do I go? What do I do? Clearly (to me anyway) there's something awry, but I have to say other than complaining very loudly to MSE and Gavin P, and perhaps a money claim, I can'r think what to do. It's £120.00 so not a fortune but bloody irritating.

Thanks.

When I got a BT voucher for getting Fibre it was dealt with by a company called Grass Roots
"The Grass Roots Group UK Ltd"

www.grg.com

Might be worth contacting them..?

My vouchers are for two sims. Sixty quid each. I haven't got a clue who is processing them, other than they are clearly not able to do the job properly.

seems my daughter and her boyfriend were very lucky then, they got theirs.

what I don't understand is the posting issue, when I claimed a couple of years back for my wife's laptop being damaged, the ins co decided it was cheaper to replace and texted us the Amazon code. no waiting and it was for the full amount in one code.

seems odd they are still using snail mail to send it out.

Yes, I too thought the use of snail mail was odd.

What I'm after is suggestions about how to proceed if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks.

I had similar at the beginning of last year after joining them not long after they had a big publicity campaign. I kicked off to the CEO and it promptly arrived a few days later along with a GOG of another £25 voucher. Nobody was able to answer why they use post rather than email but it seems a lot of the things relating to BT Mobile are a bit backwards like they weren't able to change my payment date (which again got sorted after the CEO email)

Problem I have is that they now say I've had the vouchers and have produced a dodgy signature to "prove" this.....

I'd suggest an email to Gavin pointing out the situation and that you're disgusted that you're being called a liar etc. etc. etc.

That's certainly an option.

I have to say I'm intrigued by the whole business.

"You can't have the voucher numbers."

"We can't tell you if they've been cashed."

"They were sent on 5th Jan."

"You received the vouchers 31st Dec."

And then there's the screen shot with the dodgy signature.

Fascinating. A real whodunnit.
