Parking question
Discussion
What do we reckon to this?
The road. Marked parking bay residents/pay at machine and No parking school days.

I was looking for a space on Sunday afternoon and parked on the yellow zig zags. I pondered whether to pay for a ticket but decided to take the risk, I thought it was unlikely that they'd take too much interest on Sunday Jan 1 - didn't get booked so no problem but I'm not certain what the situation is.
My view is that a ticket is required inside the marked bay but not on the zig zags, although whther a parking warden would take that view I don't know!

I couldn't decide if they are old double yellows painted over by the zig zag but you're probably right that it's no parking at all and no stopping school time.
Unfortunately you're wrong; they're not.
The DYLs (with a TRO) make the Keep Clear marking mandatory.See the Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 3 - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa... - page 79.
and the Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 5 - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa... - pages 135 & 136.
It's not just school time either. The plate means that you cannot stop or park at all during the prescribed hours.
The only exception is during the month of August - i.e. during the summer holidays.

I won't do it again! (Well, maybe not til NYD next year!
I reckon you were lucky given the location is in one of the most anti- car LAs in England. If a CEO had been working that street on NYD you still risked getting a PCN.
