Spotted yesterday in Crewe . Its blue with blue lights front and rear another fitted on a pole type thing mounted on the boot and sirens .
Being high up in a truck and it being low down and moving rapidly through the traffic I didn't get to see what uniform if any the driver was wearing .

Probably an on call doctor.

I've had them turn up in all sorts, highlights being an RS6 Avant and an C63 Touring.

A friend is a counter-terrorism 'back office' officer who has blue lights & sirens fitted to his personnel car. IIRC he said there is no restriction on what car they will fit them to, providing he can show it is his car & he uses it for getting to & from work. Any new car he gets in the future they will install them in, as per the nature of his job.

edit:
I am sure Police Chiefs/Fire Chiefs etc have them as well for obvious reasons, something goes bang loudly in the middle of a city you don't want those in charge stuck at a red light/in traffic trying to get into the office.

The old A&E consultant at a local hospital was also a response Doctor for major incidents he had an RS Avant ,when Audi found out what he did they tweeked it a bit and removed the restrictions.
When asked how fast it was he usually replied that it was faster than anything the police had and also beyond his skill level and bravery .

Doctors who train in emergency medicine sometimes do response driving courses and are granted blue lights. In SWAS they have marked Skoda Octavisa/Scouts for them to use.

New one think it was a 15 or 16 plate .The funniest thing was the light on the pole on the boot .
The last car that I saw with a light pole was a Costin with a fitting on the roof with a white and red so it could be seen down the lanes .

numerous of the BASICS schemes have Doctors (and other health professionals) who respond in either scheme or their own vehicles under blue light conditions - usually following training of the same nature and overall duration as NHS ambulance personnel or Police response drivers
