My wife has got a letter from Highview Parking. Its a fine for parking in a shopping centre car park for more than 2 hours (She stayed for 2hr 32 mins)

£95 or £55 if paid within 14 days.

Is it worth trying to ignore? Is it one of these 'non enforcable' ones or that old hat these days?

Old hat these days. First point of call should be the shopping centre management. Show them receipts to show she was using the shopping facility and ask them to ask highview parking to cancel the ticket.

Failing that pepppido.com is a great source of info. Ultimately you will appeal; they will deny your app al and then it's off to court and you have to argue a reason why you don't have to pay.

Signage, land owner consent, incorrect procedure are common reasons.

Best of luck.

Pays money, takes choice. I do still completely ignore these speculative invoices. Not had the slightest ounce of trouble yet. I'm sure chickens'll roost one day, but even if they do I'll be ahead.

get on Money saving expert on parking forum, get a letter send it. They dropped mine immediately. Don't ignore as some take court action against you any time in the next 6 years.

How about when you get one from Parking Eye and they pursue you at court? Will you ignore then?

Guess you are part of the reason these PPC's exist.

Be on here next week with a ccj from a 4 year old ticket and has since moved house. Remortgage came up and couldn't get a prime deal. Quick check of credit reference shows ccj from Barry bandit Parking service for £200 p. Happens a lot.

Throw a chip to the seagull and encourage them to pester for more...
Or challenge the legality/validity of the ticket and make them think twice about their methods?

Parking on private land can be managed effectively and fairly, however these companies like to use predatory and intimidatory tactics to extort money out of people, which includes instigating court claims for tickets that could not have been valid.

I'll give you an example from first hand experience - http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/mu...

How many more vulnerable people would have just paid up to make the problem go away?

Its pepipoo.com smile Good place for advice as is Parkingprankster

Assuming the shopping centre wont cancel the ticket then signage is the key. It has to meet guideline (does anyone know if Highview are BPA?). Signage has to meet BPA guidelines and has to have planning permission. The problem is POPLA are increasingly siding with the parking company, so to challenge signage you may end up fighting in court.

First thing you need to do is submit an appeal, plenty of draft letters on the two websites named above

Did they not send photos of the vehicle reg plates? If so how is it possible that the vehicle was not registered at that time?

I suspect they issued the original ticket against a slightly different reg. There were no evidential photographs either which surprised me that it actually got as far as a court claim.

This does highlight the gross incompetence of the IPC/IAS/Gladstones and AS Parking. The former three outfits are all run by the same two chancers - Will Hurley and John Davies, so can hardly be classed as the "Independent" parking committee. AS Parking is run by a former clamper/doorman who is as much of a victim of Gladstones incompetence as many drivers are.
