A little while ago someone posted a list of the motorways and junction numbers where HADECS cameras were located, but I can't find it using the search.

Anyone have the list to hand?

TIA

Don't they get moved around like the overhead gantry ones?

Yeah I know what to look for, just wondered where they all were and like I said there was a post last month with them all listed. It's useful when route planning.

I fail to understand this TBH. I drive 25k+ a year and have never felt the need to plan a route around speed cameras. Just drive sensibly, pay attention to the posted speed limit and you've got nothing to worry about surely?

Meanwhile back in the real world. Why do you think so many people use the M40 over the M1 now? It's not just me, there's thousands of us!

I'm afraid I don't understand it either as the M1 hasn't seemed any quieter recently. Perhaps the thousands who have diverted to the M40 have been replaced by thousands diverting from the M40 because it's become too busy.

Have you tried the Cyclops app on your smartphone?

£2.99/year seems like good value....

Or Waze, which alerts me to camera locations for free, still waiting for the catch.

Personally I can't stand the childish interface so I pay the £2.99 to Cyclops and also use Google Maps (Mercedes In built Sat Nav is crap by comparison). However, if you get on with the interface, Waze is great for speed camera and traffic alerts.

They can be on the roadside matrix boards as well.

I keep doing free trials on cyclops, worked well for 600 miles round trip in a works van in feb. Don't normally drive LGV marked up and tracked and was borrowing it for a personal trip and so wanted to keep to the limits at all times since work would get alerts of a dodgy driving.

Tomtom camera app should have them all eventually but, the way things are going, every gantry will have one soon.

Can't you just look at the gantry support on the left?

Remember you must assume they're live at all speeds. They're sometimes active at 70mph but not always.

As said I know how to spot them, it's just good to plan journeys where they aren't if you get my drift. I know everyone says stick to the speed limit but we're all guilty of going a little over on a good clear run and I'd just like to avoid them if possible.

In that case, you need to avoid all variable speed limits, aka smart motorways.

waze has them, as well as alerts for scamera vans and the BiB fishing with laser guns (mostly, if another user has flagged it)
