Very quick question
Hospital car park
Small number of bays (10)
Two set of signage visible for the car park
One states 10 minutes parking
Other states 20 minutes parking
20 min parking has cp parking T&Cs below
10 minutes has no t&c's visible

Which applies ( if any ) and why?

If it matters this is Watford general hospital

The answer is are you defending or prosecuting. If you can be arsed to fight then you have a case for the longer but it would be so much simpler to heed the warning.

Same carpark?
Split areas with boundary lines for each option?
Is it a drop off area as the times are so short?
More info needed.

Sorry for late reply;

It is a car park, as it has time limits posted, and marked bays
Not many spaces, granted.

It's 'Policed' by CP Parking, as is the whole of the hospital car park.
Old signage says 20 mins 'waiting' time
New says 10 minutes.
Old signs have no conditions T&C's visible.
New signs have the std CP Parking T&Cs underneath.

It is the only free parking in the hospital

As there are conflicting conditions, are any of them valid ?

The rest of the hospital parking is straight forward - £2 per hour

Talking to some of the staff who park there in emergencies they have had tickets, and all have just thrown them away !

So, the question is if you did get a ticket, whats the likelihood of being able to contest it on the grounds of ambiguous signage?

Looks like parking changed last November, no mention of 20 minutes:

even better - the map you shared shows a different time altogether - and for the short stay carpark, where the meters have 24 hr rates on them...
How the hell can they issue tickets if none of their own signage matches up ?!

Er, no. WHH NHS Trust contracts with CP Plus.
It is essential to know the correct name of the PPC you are dealing with.
Otherwise you may fail to adopt the right tactical approach.

Any contract is formed by the signage.
If it is contradictory/misleading the PPC is likely to have shot itself in the foot.

You should be looking at the forums which are dedicated to this subject.
e.g. pepioo/MSE/etc. (read the NEWBIES thread on MSE)

You have a choice. Roll over or fight.
For the latter you'll need to do your homework.
Failure to do so first before acting is a self-inflicted wound.

There is one crucial thing to note about CP Plus.
They do not use the wording from the POFA Schedule 4
Which they need to do to hold the RK liable.

Windscreen PCNs or via ANPR?

Throwing them away is their call.
Don't be guided by their example.
As I said above, pay up or read up.

thanks:
you are obviously correct, it is CP Plus

On this one, I may just roll over; it's £15 (if paid early)
If it went to the WHH trust, I'd happily pay straight away
