Hello everyone,

I'm currently taking a break from driving due a diagnoses of Epilepsy. My wife is currently having to drive, which has taken some getting used to!

We were driving from Reading to Yorkshire and joined the A45 at Stivichall interchange, and travelled onwards to join the M69. She slowed down to 50 MPH for the speed limit when approaching the roundabout from the A46, but on joining the A45 (triple carriageway), assumed it was NSL until I noticed a 50 MPH repeater when looking up from my phone.

Are there any speed cameras between Stivichall Interchange and the junction with the M69? I've checked on Wase and ThinkSaferRoads.org.uk and can't see any evidence of speed cameras on the section we travelled on.

Is anyone able to confirm whether or not there are any speed cameras on this section, and what we'd likely be looking at for having done ~70 in a 50?

Thanks

Jon

I live close by and use that stretch regularly and i,m pretty sure there are no cameras, it used to be 60 mph limit but they reduced it to 50 when they reopened the new section at toll bar recently, not many stick to 50, 60-65 is the norm along there.

Even if there were, which I am pretty sure there are not, as far as I know all of the cameras in the Coventry area are inactive.

I'm fairly sure they were removed as part of the roadworks, but I'll be along there later today and will have a gander for you; I'll rattle through at about 80 leptons and see if anything flashes. smile

That's correct they were removed and haven't been replaced because all the others are off anyway

Yup, can confirm no cameras.

...and The Great Cathedral of the Unneeded* was the busiest I've ever seen it. Bolleaux - missed the start of the F1

Apparently the two near the Ryton junction of the A45 are still active (and frankly quite rightly too - lethal junction), but the ones on the section you were on are not.

The ones from Stivichall junction up to Toll Bar and then along the A46 towards the M69 - not on / don't work.
The forward facing ones from Toll Bar along the A45 towards Rugby - I'm not sure - I don't risk it
The new one on the A45 from Rugby towards Toll Bar under the bridge - yes, that works.

Correction - used to be a lethal junction when it was a x-roads on to a dual-carriageway; no longer lethal as it's a roundabout. At least one camera is there under false pretences.

No cameras at all on that stretch now, never have been any cameras along the A46 -> M69 in the 20-odd years I've lived nearby.

A45 Westbound under the bridge was...erm..."modified" with a coat of paint some months ago and has not (at the last look) been fixed. smile

The second eastbound camera, and the long-burnt-out one on the westbound, were the now pointless ones protecting the A445 roundabout.

I'm talking about the junction further west at the top of the hill - you can still cross the A45 from Ryton village to the other side.

That junction is what the second westbound camera (on the hill) and the first eastbound one (which I think might now have gone) are/were protecting.

Ah, yes - sorry. The Eastbound one, after being Missing in Action for a good while, was replaced more recently so it's back now! The Westbound one,as you suggest, is wearing its balaclava to help its burn injuries smile
