Just noticed this clip on the news of a man getting run down by a bus yet miraculously sustaining no serious injury.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-berkshire-...

Simon Smith was knocked to the ground by the vehicle while walking along Gun Street. He was able to get back on his feet afterwards and suffered only bruising.
No arrests have been made. Reading Buses say it was an awful incident which is being investigated internally.

Surely it's DWDCA at the very least? If you did that in a car then you'd hopefully be banned for quite a while.

Bloody hell, that could have been so much worse had several people been waiting for said bus.

Do we know when this occured? No date/time on the BBC.

Looks like the driver may have been taken ill and lost control.

No way the guy isn't in some way injured - notice he just gets up and walks in to the shop. Must be very confused. If you were not injured you would be going over to either have a word with he bus driver or at least see if he was okay.

Very strange-bus was going far too fast and was always heading for the pavement- perhaps driver had collapsed?

Astonishingly lucky escape though- that guy must be made of girders!

They are only going to arrest someone where they suspect a crime has been committed. Loosing control of a vehicle is not a crime in itself.

The driver seems to be ill from what others have said. if hes in hospital he aint going anywhere so arrest isnt warranted to ensure a "prompt investigation" etc.

I would guess that most interactions between a person and a vehicle involve the person getting head injuries. It looked like this chap got hit with the force spread equally from his calves to the top of his head, so no whiplash and no bad head injuries and I guess the front of the bus is not as had as it looks, unlike the bloke who is about 10 times harder than any man has any right to be.

That bus was going far too fast,or the driver had some sort medical problem.?

I know that area very well,Minster St into Gun St is just a one way side street.Buses would normally be doing 15 - 20 mph max as they have just passed one of the entrances to the Oracle Shopping Mall.

Everyone is very lucky,That could have been a disaster with the bus buried in The Purple Turtle full of drinkers.

Yeh, looks like either a mechanical issue or a medical issue with the driver. If neither of those apply then I think a dangerous/reckless driving charge is inevitable.
