Was parked up in the local Tesco express when I saw a car hit another. The occupants of the car changed seats and sped off. I got a picture of the car and it's reg and gave them to the owner of the damaged car when he returned.

He has reported it to the police and has told me that the police want to contact me to confirm what I saw. I don't really want involved I thought giving him a pic and a reg was enough.

Do I need to speak to the police ? I don't really want anything more to do with it

Sounds rather similar to the incident in the thread you already have running - what are the odds.

How would you like it if someone saw a car drive into your empty vehicle and didn't want to give a witness statement?

Man up and do the right thing, you'd be furious of someone failed to do the same for you if they could.

Why would you not want to complete the action you had started, i.e. bringing the perpetrator to justice?

The police will just ask about what you saw. What on earth is the problem with that?

I assume that thread from the OP led to people suggesting that he may have to give a statement to the police which has thus resulted in this thread smile

OP - what are you fearful of?
