Penalty for no numberplate?

Tried googling it and found lots of doom about being fined unto £1k for incorrectly displayed number plates but nothing recent for no number plate. PH, 2008 - £30....

Depends what offence you're planning to commit.

Driving with no front number plate is usually dealt with a FPN £100

But can be "a fine not exceeding level three on the standard scale" which is UP TO £1000

This same penalty is applicable to driving with no plates at all.

Depends on the car really. Drive without a plate on a regular car and it'll stand out a mile. On a supercar, ironically, not so much.

If court proceedings are commenced then a fine of up to £1000.

There is an old lady near here who sometimes goes to the shops in a rolls Royce with no number plates

I got pulled for no number plate. Thankfully, a sensible officer. It had clearly very recently dropped off and I hadn't noticed.

So depends on your story to the rozzas!

If your to cool for school, you just slide down front of the dash as if your a cool racer this is much cleaner look.

I drove my newly imported Toyota from Southampton Docks back to London without any number plates at all, even overtook a police car on the M3.

Not an eyelash was batted.
