Hypothetically speaking, how much trouble could you get into
Discussion
Say you were deep into a forest park, deserted large open car park, and you let a delighted 2 year old sit in your lap and steer the wheel whilst a car was crawling along (automatic in Drive so just minimal speed).
No one around, nothing to hit, your foot on the brake.
Now say this did happen, but seeing as it is technically public space, a police car came into the car park at that very moment, legally what could you get done for?
Once again, this is hypothetical, and has not happened. Just curious!

Public land or private car park?
If it was truly deserted and under the conditions and speed you talk about, you'd have to get a right **** of a copper to not just ask you to stop, and tell you not to do it again.
Say it was, I dunno lets pick one, that forest park along the A3. Queen Elizabeth Country Park.If it was truly deserted and under the conditions and speed you talk about, you'd have to get a right **** of a copper to not just ask you to stop, and tell you not to do it again.

Shame on you.
The child needs to be in an approved child seat when driving.

And we have a lovely rear child seat, two in fact, as when the new safety recommendations came in for the reverse types, we bought the new one even though it is not retrospective.
Sometime we even have wrap him up in bubble wrap when he pays in the sandpit, just in case...

I wouldn't do that - next thing they'll be off on a trip on their own! Our 2.5yr old granddaughter asked the other day to show her how to start the engine.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
