I believe the correct term is 'Failure to make correct progress' it attracts the usual points and fine.

I think it is classed as 'driving without due care and attention'

How if I am mentally alert and driving along in the correct lane, can I be charged with driving without due care and attention? I'm only travelling 6mph slower than the lorries.

How about we all get together and drive up and down said stretch of motorway at 40mph when the scammers are out.

Do we have a minimum speed limit on our motorways? I know other countries do, but I don't think we do - surely, one cannot therefore be booked for driving below it.

I'd like to see Mr. General Public Numpty A booked for "Failing to make proper progress" as he dawdles down A roads at 40mph...but will that ever happen??

Hypothetically speaking wouldn't it take forever for a lorry to pass you, thus causing tailbacks all the way back to News at 10, if you were only going 1mph slower than the lorries?

....and a few like-minded friends also drove carefully at the same time.

Actually that does happen

I have seen reports in the Norfolk local papers of numpties being reported by cops for going too slow on fast B roads. I seem to remember the police saying that nobody should be doing less than 45mph on a 60mph road.

And therefore being a right royal pain in the arse for them. If you must go slowly on the motorway, do more than 56mph.

There are several NSLs near me where 45mph would be suicidal....

What about varying 25-35 in a 60 are you legally allowed to get out and kill said driver? Not that I would do this of course.. Just followed a woman along a 60 for about 3 or 4 miles as there were no safe places to overtake, when there was finally a long straight I went to overtake but slowed slightly along side to see why on earth the person was going so slow and there was a woman in her 60's clutching the wheel looking as though she was going to die. Should these people by driving if they are obviously this petrified? I mean 25 in a 60 takes the biscuit

Fairly common. People are often "pro speed camera" near their home and ignore it elsewhere.

Yeah, peoples self righteous attitude to speed seems to alter depending on their circumstances. Yesterday I was stuck behind an old pug 205 with a speed kills sticker in the back. The guy in the pug was doing 45-50mph in a NSL single carriage way so i went round him at which point he floored the poor old pug and i only got round him when the bloody thing ran out of steam at about 90mph he then flashed his lights at me and dropped back down to his previous speed of about 45 mph. If he'd let me past in the first place i'd have got round at no more than 65mph!

What will you get for 50mph in a 70 limit? Probably the George cross If, statistically speaking, the number of road deaths increases depending on how much over the speed limit you travel then doing 50 in a 70 should bring people back to life (statistically speaking)...
