For apparently not sticking a £1 on the windscreen.

Are they having a laugh? I was with my kid and I took over an hour and spent over £100 in store.

No other car next to me had a sticker in the dash and half the time the machines are feckin knackered.

Printed on very shoddy looking paper, been told it goes upto 70quid if I don't pay in 28 days.

Nowt stuck on the windscreen, very amateur photograph of my car also.

Are these even enforceable?

EDIT - I Appealed and won

Do you deny failing to pay and display in a pay and display car park?

Brace yourself, PH doesn't take prisoners over this crime haha.

Tbh it's odd that big business needs to charge it's customers £1 for parking but most will refund you if you spend over X and it deters those wanting free parking if it's near a town centre.

Btw all your observations make your post read like you didn't buy a ticket,...

It's an entirely made up scenario, no one spends over £100 in Asda.

Check signage
Email reciept to parking firm
If they refuse go to Asda store and ask to speak to manager. They can then have the fine cancelled.

Are you sure it wasn't ANPR and there was a computer to enter your reg as you leave the store?

Asda will definitely cancel if you go in with receipt but make sure you ask to be copied into email from them to parking company (?ParkingEye)

What if Asda are only a tenant on a multitenanted site with the parking agreement between the car park landlord and parking eye?
Some 'franchisesbusinesses' are now saying 'nowt to do with us gov'

Asda in in the majority of cases employ the PPC. If they don't they will tell you who the land owner is

It is not a FINE. It is an invoice.
A fine can only be handed out by a court of law.

Go on the money saving expert website. They have a format for dealing with it, including a template to write a reply.

I think step 1 there is always approach the manager in store and ask them to stop it proving you shopped there then, which a £100 receipt would do nicely.

^^ This.

A lot of people on PH have very little sympathy for anyone who thinks that some rules only apply to other people.
It’s a fact I f life, I’m afraid.

However, because it’s a parking co. You will find lots of excited people happy to help you.

But apparently too tight to spring £1 for parking.

Surely, the logical step 1 advice is to look at the car park terms and pay the required fee, if you wanted to save money (and your own time).

Or, is that section of the Money Saving Expert site actually providing advice on how to save on paying for car parking in the first place.

I am always genuinely perplexed at some of the reasons people give for retrospective permission to park, or the negation of penalties.

Can you simply explain why you feel that your particular situation is different in any way to the many people who on the same day spent £100 in the same shop, but bought a ticket as directed?

The only mitigating facts you have stated are that sometimes the machines are broken, but you had a kid with you.

If the machines were broken on this occasion, I see that as a true mitigating reason,
