I'll give a brief description.

So somebody drove into the back of me. I needed my back fast, as I was due to work away for 4 weeks. A local accident repair centre said they could get the parts and repair my bumper, breaking bar and get it back to me within a week. So I went ahead although something didn't feel right, too many promises. Day before I was to pick it up the excuses started, when I got my car back the work was substandard, so I gave them another chance again the work is substandard they haven't replaced or refitted rear diffuser and exhaust tips.

I took my car to a BMW garage today for them to look at and they said nothings align boot lid onto bumper and other things an untrained eye like me didn't pick up. The bodywork manager was in disbelief.

So where do I stand, I chose this accident management company (my fault), they went thru the 3rd party insurance as far as I'm aware the claim is not been finished as there's some issue with the 3rd party drivers insurance.

Can I go directly to the 3rd party insurance now or is my only route via the legal ombudsman.

My cars a high performance car thats under 2 years old and I wish I went with my gut feeling. I'm feeling absolutely gutted now and its gone on for too many months now.

have you gone to an accident mamagement company
or an accident repair centre
the first would have asked you wehre youd like it repaired (eg the BMW dealer) and claimed it from the thrid party

I've went to an accident management company which put me to a garage which I later found out was owned by said management company. He said he was insurance and BMW approved, picked my car up to be fixed and I was given a courtesy car. All seemed well until I seen his garage which looked like a back street job and level of work is terrible.

I watch watchdog and wonder how people can be duped and now I feel like I'm one of them.

What agreement have you signed?
You can let the thrid party insurer knwo youre not saisfied

You can let the repairer know they can have one more go or youre taking it to be fixed elsewhere and send them the bill
You can ask the AMC to get it fixed elsewhere
Would the BMW garage take it on now?

So you might end up paying for it yourself anyway?

I will contact the 3rd party insurer as instructed by BMW, they said they do not want me to foot the bill. BMW said I'll need to be booked in and they need to take the bumper off for full diagnostic.

I have given the AMC two goes now and I have really lost trust in the garage I do not want to make it a 3rd, too many promises and they always fail to deliver.

I haven't signed anything with the AMC, they employ that they pay excess no-win no fee sort of thing.

I know if the 3rd party insurers find fault on their drivers paperwork I may have to foot the bill to have it repaired again, it's gone on this long now I actually don't care and just want to have my car fixed and carry on with my life.

I just want to know what legal steps I should take/make.

I'm currently writing a formal complaint letter to the AMC which I will send by post and email and expect to hear back within 7 days as instructed by the legal ombudsman.
