I'd have thought reverting to 30mph from 20mph would simply involve taking signs down.Entirely unsurprising really:
1) No one is actually doing 20mph. Drivers a have eyes, they see non one about and therefore drive at a speed that feels comfortable. When large blanket 20 zones are established, drivers will be back to 30 just a few hundred yards after the 20 sign. ie slow limits only work in small areas for specific and obvious "risks" ie a well signed / marked school entrance etc
2) SMOMBIES - everyone is on their phone (drivers and pedestrians) so what speed people are doing is largely irrelevant.
3) More Cars, more pedestrians - no surprises more people are getting run over
