Iam here.......been very busy at work and more importantly our house extension is nearing completeion and ive been (and still am) decorating for England.
Our computers have been relocated to a dark and dusty room but are now beginnig to see the light of day again.
Did anyone see me on the Telly on Sunday?
I was leading the Marathon on a Motorbike.....nicest way to do it i would say but i take my hat off to anyone on here that did actually did run it.

There have been so many changes at work, needless to say that we have a new boss.
It was an excellent idea and one which would benefit everyone and hopefully it will come off.
As of the end of next month i will be on the Tasking Team/Commercial vehicle unit and this will give me more time etc etc to plan the event and finally get it off the ground.
You would not believe how much planning, red tepe etc goes into orgsanising something which on paper seems a simple thing to organise.
Watch this space.

Yes it is.
About 3 years ago i was on it and we were very busy, both with our own jobs and also assisting Customs and the VI.....or should i now say, VOSA.
We were disbanded and virtually no Enforcement was done.
With the threat of terrorism etc they think its a good idea that they bring the Enforcement back and as a result, ive been asked to get it up and running again.
I did enjoy dealing with 'heavies' and to be honest, you do get a bit rusty after a while but it shouldnt take me long to get back up to speed again.
As you know, theres a lot of work out there and some real pisstakers.

Sounds like good use of time to me.
Quick question on a personal bugbear: do non-UK or non-EU registered HGVs have to be fitted with spray-suppressant mudflaps and/or wheelarch liners if they operate in this country?
I seem to be encountering an increasing number without them - and it's staggering how difficult they are to see past.

Why does this come to mind.....
Also all the scrap trucks taxed as "Recovery". They do this to get round the MoT regs. As a pointer (but I`m sure you already know), you can only use recovery tax if you are taking a vehicle to it`s place of destruction (e.g a scrap metal yard), not a breakers yard. Sorry - it`s my pet hate.

I would say that they dont have too......providing they are here only on a visit.
I stand to be corrected on this one

good to see you back posting Tony. Saw you on your bike during the coverage of the marathon (had actually recorded it for a couple of reasons so had a play of the tape today) Will have a face to look out for if im out round the Hitchin area now - if you see the driver of a blue punto waving take no offence it’ll prob be me!

A face? Surely a skid-lid was present?
