Just back from court for speeding.
Discussion
Morning all I posted here last week asking for advice on the likely outcome of a 86 in a 60 speeding offence.
I can report that I was given 4pts and a £319 fine which I think is more than fair kop.
The Magistrates were fair and I’m glad I went to court to offer my apologies and show my remorse for my actions.
Thanks to all those who commented last week 👍🏻

Lucky you.. i got 6 points for a 96 in a 70 (I was 1mph over the guildeline 3 points and should have gotten a discretionary 4).
Lesson learnt.. If I'm going to speed, I might as well do it with bigger numbers as the penalty would have been the same. The guys before me were all well over 110mph and got the same amount of penalty points.

Sounds like they made the right call if that is your attitude.Lesson learnt.. If I'm going to speed, I might as well do it with bigger numbers as the penalty would have been the same. The guys before me were all well over 110mph and got the same amount of penalty points.

What's attitude got to do with it? I have a blatant disregard for speed limits, my attitude won't change regardless. I fail to see how it affects anything.
If you are ever taken to court for speeding, turn up with that attitude and express your views to the magistrate and see how you get on
Why remorse? There is remorse only because the speeding was detected and there was a prosecution. You don't exceed the NSL by 27mph by accident. The remorse is "I wish I hadn't been going fast at that particular place and time; I don't like the fine and points so I might not go that fast next time"

I'd imagine it naturally affects your chances of ended up with a speeding conviction relative to to somebody who doesn't have a blatant disregard for speed limits.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
