Saturday night came across a SWAST Skoda Scout RRV that was bombing through town with siren on but managed not to notice he/she had not emergency lights.

Its a first for me! I have a video if people are interested I will upload.

Maybe the fuse to the lights had gone.

Were you stood behind it? Quite often cars can only show blue lights to the front.

Or could simply be they were broken.

No it drove from behind me and past.

I heard the siren and was looking for the lights. It went fly past

I'm sure it'd be of much comfort to the casualty that the reason they were not responded too quickly was because the paramedic decided they needed to work out why the roof-lights were not working on the car

In my mind you dont risk a life to save a life. If he or she had crashed there would be hell to pay.

We aren't far from the ambulance station where there may well be other vehicles. I have been there a few times and there a loads vehicles.

Maybe I'm just a glass half full kind of guy, but I would assume the response driver was aware their lights were not working, and factored this into their risk analysis when driving.

There'd be hell to pay if they crash with blues flashing. They're not a miracle get out jail free card.

I think I need to agree with the guy who mused "What a boring life".

Seemed to be the usual for their RRV drivers foot to the floor and hope for the best. My wife works for NHS and she thought the driving was dangerous.

I have called them twice once for my daughter and once for my dead father. Both times the RRV gets there like the star ship enterprise.

They don't need to drive that fast to get to identify a dead person.

Seemed the safest option was to take the car to workshops which is a 5/10 minute drive.

If the lights don't work on our vehicles they are taken to workshops until they do.

You seem a little confused as to what this word means.

How exactly does your wife working in the NHS qualify her to have an expert opinion on the driving of a RRV driver?

Maybe they had already started to respond when the lights packed up (if they did) maybe there was no spare vehicle.

How do they know the person was dead? just because you say they are doesn't mean it is correct.

The list goes on

We don't actually know, so lets just say these things happen.

How do you know that was what was going on?

I've been in an ambulance and spent time in hospital, does that make me qualified?
