Buying a car from a charity.
Discussion
Got my eye on a nice looking shed budget car on eBay that is being sold by a well known high street charity. It is low mileage, FSH, and last owner owned it for some time - I wonder whether he left it in his will or something? Anyway, I would likely have to bid sight unseen given when the auction ends.
I was wondering two things:
(i) Do the CRA15 rules apply to charity shop purchases? (I have had a quick look at the Act, and I am pretty sure it does).
(ii) Would it be morally wrong to seek to enforce your statutory consumer rights when buying a car from a charity?
Obviously my thought process is more that the engine lunches itself within 300 miles rather than trying to get a charity shop to fix a snapped spring or something.
Interested in all thoughts.

It's "shed budget", so the question's pretty damn academic. But I wouldn't.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
