there already appears to be a huge increase in cameras going up, did 200 miles in and around london this weekend and there are loads of new cam's up (no lines on road yet).
Most of them were in residential 30 mph area where you'd normaly be nose to tail anyway.

Shoved a couple of new cameras up within a couple of hundred metres of each other in Balham lately... never seen an accident there in 22 years, wide open part of the road on the first camera.
Rarely go over 30 mph on that stretch but the cameras seem superfluous since there are occasionaly times when one could average 35 rather than 30 in perfect safety.

There are a couple of new ones on Westferry Road in Docklands which might actually be worth it as you do get some complete tw ats belting it along there on bikes. There is a school about 100 yards away so justified I think (for a change).
