We will stop using speed cameras to raise more stealth taxes.

Commenting on a Virgin Cars survey which showed more motorists believe a Conservative Government would offer them the best deal if elected, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, Tim Yeo, said:

'This shows how fed up people are with Labour's war on the motorist. Drivers in this country have been let down by Mr Blair. He promised to cut congestion but it has risen. He slashed road building so our main roads are now jammed. And he has relentlessly increased the number of speed cameras, to raise money for the Treasury by stealth.

'A Conservative Government will be on the side of responsible drivers. We had pledged to cut congestion, to improve road safety and to promote cleaner vehicles. We will certainly stop using speed cameras to raise more stealth taxes. No wonder more people support our stance over Labour's'.

Snap! here

also if you go to Concervatives website click on the Local Issues tab.

No 5 Pledge is "STOP THE WAR ON THE MOTORIST"

Mailed a few MPs incl Liam Fox telling them to get their collectives fingers out and target the road user vote. Blair is on the run now, even God with that lightning strike is giving him the message.

Hey! If they did, even "I" would vote for them, and you know MY views!

BUT!!!!! I want a copperbottomed, Guaranteed, black and white pledge, NO word fudges, from MR Howard no less before the election,..... first. Not from some long forgotten "back bencher" who can't be held responsible later.
