I'm having a little spat with regard to getting a holiday gite damage deposit refunded, I've set a deadline by which if I do not have the money I'll raise an MCOL claim.

Now, its really not worth it, but, they've been particularly rude and hence I'm feeling particularly difficult.

I have name, account number and sort code, email address, land line number, but I do not have an address.

In these days post GDPR and super sleuths of PH having their knuckles rapped. How do I find the address?

My limited google skills brings forth nothing.

Please do not try and connect this with the other discussion I started.

I'm not asking you to find it, just asking how?

Of course, if someone reading this thought they could help, they really shouldn't send me an email. No. No. Definitely not.

Can you do a search on 192.com to see if they are there. If so register to get a few credits.

You could try britishphonebook.com

A bit out-of-date now, but sometimes comes up with the goods if you know a town or area.

Google the std code of their landline number to get the area/town.

Then visit https://www.thephonebook.bt.com/person/

Pop it in here with their surname and town.

You may be lucky -

Twitter or Faceballs?

Enabled me to track someone down to a particular village, I haven't needed to go any further than that yet.

Yes, indeed, I wondered about that, they are British owners, resident in Britain, we paid to a UK bank in sterling, its priced in sterling, all comms in English. So I think using MCOL is fine.

I looked on there, no sign of either of them, makes me think the income isn't declared too.

If you know sort code ,try this -
http://www.afd.co.uk/try-it/bank-lookup/
I tried it with my bank sort code and it gave me name of bank and town.
Again, the code of the landline will give you/confirm the town of the firm. Then it might be worth a look on Yell.com for businesses of that type in that area/town and see if any phone numbers match. Again, if no joy, try a call to that number, with holding your number to see if the firm answer call with their name. If you feel lucky enough ask them to for their address or ask if they are near a landmark. Most folk will say *** road/stret is close to that etc.

If you've found them on 192 and they've been at the same address since before 2014 then drop me a PM and i can get you the details for free rather than you paying for 192 credits. I've currently got an ancestry account so can access the electoral roll records pre 2014 through that.

It'll only save you a couple of pounds but happy to help if you like.

Very kind offer, your profile doesn't accept emails.

We should have had our deposit returned 1 week ago, they have now said we left a mattress wet which had to be replaced. I dispute this. Their most recent reply is insulting and threatening. I gave them a deadline of 5pm yesterday to have the money in our account and its not there.

Given their rudeness and fabrication (and the fact I believe they owe us the money), I'm going to create a case on MCOL.

There's a point of principle at stake.

If you move, major banks will leave you with the same sort code and account number, you will not get relocated to a local branch.

Indeed, plus, many sort codes are for online accounts, the sort code didn't help me, although there will be cases where it does.

Apologies, hadn't realised, now updated to accept emails if you're still in need.

If I use 192.com, its going to cost £18 to buy the credits, how do I verify that the address I get is correct?
