WHY DO THEY DO IT?

Fortunately I haven't needed to drive a long ourney for quite a while now. But yesterday I drove from West Oxfordshire to Norwich and back. Numbed into submission by the plethora of scamera signs, I stuck to the limits......
But I saw only 1 Plodmobile in 353 miles. The standard of driving on the A11/A14 was appalling - the number of 'yobbed up' Golfs, Corsas etc with those stupid bean can tin exhausts blatantly treating the road like a race track was astonishing - why do they do it? Is it because there are so few Plods about that they can get away with it with impunity? Are they ever caught on camera - or are the scamera signs just an ineffective deterrent.
