Well I was in Dubai/Abu Dhabi over Christmas and think I may of been caught speeding.

If I have what's the protocol for it? I was in a hire car and they hold your deposit for 15 days after the hire I assume for this reason.

I wasn't paying attention on xmas day on route to Ferrari world and came into a slip road with cameras doing about 10kmh over the limit and I was advised that they have zero tolerance in Abu Dhabi.

Just curious as I am going back to Dubai next month smile

Refer here for the approximate fine - https://www.edarabia.com/abu-dhabi-police-traffic-...

As you have stated if anything does come through it would be the hire company who the fine would go to - so might be worth contact them and tell them you are expecting one and to take it out of the deposit.

My brother lives in Dubai and every year you need to renew your licence plate. So you, or in his case a member of staff, go down to renew the licence plate and at the same time pay any fines. A couple of years ago the colleague went to do it and came back chortling at the amount. SO my brother investigated further and found the Chief of Abu Dhabi police had the same number plate as him but in a different colour, and had racked up a lot of fines that had been applied to him!

So I guess with a hire car they just check the speeding fines more frequently.

The lease company will be in touch with you if there has been a fine issued.
Alternatively (if you know the reg plate) you can check for fines on the police/RTA website.

Possibly 300 Dhs

If you're anything like me you got may have been ''fined'' more than that leaving Ferrari World (I'm assuming you still have to exit via the gift shop)

As mentioned above, you can check for fines online if you know the car reg number.
