I'm in the process of winding up everything here in sunny Bristol and retiring to Scotland. Aiming for the Dundoon area, or Ayr/Galloway region.
I think I've got a handle on the process, for which I need a solicitor to make an offer. One that could be patient enough to walk an englishman through the process would be ideal.

Any recommendations for a local one?

Thanks
Joe

Chris Sayer,

Saved me a lot of money when he advised me not to buy based on his market views as he felt the value of what I was looking at was vastly wrong for the area and would be trouble to sell in the future. Any Lawyer who tells you the truth and turns down your money is one to trust imo.

+1 for Chris Sayer.

We used him on the recommendation of a colleague when we bought our first house last year, cannot fault him. His rates were great too.
I've since recommended him to a friend for his first house adventure, he was really pleased too.

"He has had a number of sporting interests over the years, and has been encouraged to retire from cricket, squash, tennis, badminton, volleyball, lacrosse etc, etc having attained a startling level of mediocrity in all the foregoing. There are similarly active plans to retire him from rugby and football which are still being resisted"

great bio!
