Lunchtime today I was driving betweem Swansea and Mumbles. I spotted a small (Clio sized) white car with a camera on the roof. The car had a Safety Camera Unit ( or similar) logo/writing on the doors. The camera was similar to one of the smaller fixed types. I couldn’t get a really detailed look but enough to realise what it was.
If not speed then was it just monitoring general driving as per dashcam users?

Almost certainly being used for parking enforcement, could also be doing zig zags at crossings or outside schools as well - as far as I know they only do "static" type stuff.
Might even be the same one that goes round Bridgend sometimes, I'm not sure whether they are owned by one council or used by a few different ones.

Nope nothing like that it’s generating revenue for the council by inforcing bus lanes etc and hopefully zapping parents who park too close to schools before taking their kids off on holiday where they can receive another fine.

See link for a picture of the car

Can't say I have a problem with that - People who park like complete selfish twcensoredts outside schools deserve all they get, as far as I'm concerned!

We used to have a few camera cars like that in Bedfordshire but they withdrew them for reasons I haven't been able to find with a quick Google.
They were doing a roaring trade in issuing fines for parking like a knob between 8am and 5pm but unfortunately were never sent out later to tackle our local issue of people parking on double yellows after 5, causing blockages when people are going home from work.
