That store is awful when it comes to customer service
-no phone line
-customer support is via a ticket system based in India
-store staff are on min wage and not knowledgeable so high staff turnover

In terms of what can be done
-Contact Samsung see if they can help? Have you updated it latest software, tried a fresh new install?

-take it on the chin and buy another one, approx £140 for a used one. Sell your old one for spares and repair to recoupe some of that money

Did you pay for the phone with a credit card, if so get the card provider involved.

Don’t even bother with the shop.

CONTACT SAMSUNG DIRECTLY

I bought a Samsung tablet and it stoped working, I couldn’t remember how long ago I bought it and had lost the receipt so I’m a draw it went.

Then someone said just speak to Samsung, I had nothing to lose so found a number on their website.

I gave them the number off the back and they said it showed under 2 years old and I didn’t need the receipt. At their cost they arranged it to be collected by a courier within a couple of days. They fixed it and sent it back.

What I would do is phone and explain that the screen is cracked, but this has nothing to do with the technical malfunction of the signal which has never worked. What they wil do is take the phone apart and will be able to see something is faulty. The crack as you say is unrelated and you are not asking for that to be fixed.

I can’t really a company ever being so helpful and I was amazed they sorted my tablet.

Edit - didn’t spot it was second hand as skimmed your post.

I skimmed through your email. This was a used phone you bought correct? You claim it is not making calls properly, poor reception etc. Since you owned it it has developed a crack. You now want a refund or exchange.

The problem is it is now damaged, you say you did not drop it but the seller will doubt this. I think they have every right to refuse a refund in this case.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

This seems to be the right solution as it is similar to a situation we recently had with "Big High street retailer" that seems to have gone better for us.
We bought a surface pro which, 18 months in stopped charging, a pretty well known fault. It also had a small dent which did not affect operation. We returned it, under warranty, we had a call saying they don't repair just exchange so we should pay for the cost of the new outer case. I could have argued but I paid and got a replacement.
As an aside this worked out better than we could hope as this was faulty on arrival. They gave us a full refund for the original purchase which meant we could buy a brand new same spec, latest version, with a new warranty and be £400 ahead of the game.
I hope it works out for you.
