Title is the TL;DR basically.

Parked up at RUH Bath a couple of weeks ago for an appt. It's one of the ones where you can either pay before or after. I selected after as I didn't know how long I'd be there.

Anyway.

Went to leave, paying for the ticket, it come up as £4, as it was just over 2hrs. I put in some coins, pressed accept/go/vend whatever button and the machine did nothing for about a minute. I heard the coins drop, and then nothing. It reverted back to the start screen asking for a reg plate to be input.
After much cussing and swearing I went into reception to say, and find out what to do I was told "Oh is it the one on the right side?" It's doing that a lot lately, don't worry I'll make a note you paid.
Took my name, and thought that was that.

Until a parkingeye ticket landed on my mat at home. Joy. I've appealed it, but knowing PE, they'll laugh and tell me to pay. Other than going to RUH, is there anything I can do?

Just go back to the hospital. They will have the ability to cancel ParkingEye tickets. Standard contracts with PE/hospitals to do this

Yes they do and No they dont,
I just had a problem and the hospital admitted it was their fault I got a ticket but when the hospital asked PE they said no we are not cancelling it. I then asked the hospital who the F is running the show here you or PE they had no answer. Looks like the hospital has sold out. Bunch of Plonkers

OP go back to the hospital and ask/remind them about the problem with the machine. Get them to admit it first so they cant back track or deny it later.

Then tell them about your case.

have word on pepipoo

but dont say who was drivng, just the driver did this the driver paid that..no names.

Read what they have to say and dont think you can be smarter than them, they can get this cancelled 90% of the time, so if they give you a reply to send up do it word for word, and dont change anything

At the end of the day they don't charge anything, plus your have a possiblity of keeping 60.00 in your pocket

Strange the contracts are the complete opposite of your experience

Anyone would think that Parking Eye work in an industry which has historically had the morals of a timeshare salesman.

First I appealed direct because I looked at why I got a ticket and it was was quite clear the system they had in place was misleading. I lost the appeal because PE did nothing wrong it was the hospitals fault/system.

I then went to the hospital who agreed they were at fault but PE said to them they would not cancel the invoice because they spent time and money on my appeal. I gave up and just paid the £40 in the end but hopefully I cost them more than £40 with the appeal

They are worse than that.
