So I was on the I54 slip road this afternoon coming onto the M54 from Wolverhampton towards the Jaguar plant,I was doing about 46-48 ish as it's a straight dual carriageway that heads up to a roundabout but for some unknown reason is a 40. I clocked a police speed gun facing onto the M54 in my direction next to the dual carriageway but not facing the road itself, will I be caught?

How would anyone on here know?! smile not sure the camera operators tend to hang out on PH!

you will undoubtedly find out within the next couple of weeks... though if your speedo is reading 46, it might be that your actual speed was low enough to not be an issue...

When you say speed gun, what do you mean ?

If it was the Police with a hand held radar gun, speeders would normally be stopped immediately and issued with a NIP at the road side.
If it was a fixed camera you will have to wait and see? NIP in the post within 14 days.

Ask yourself this question, why were they plotted up there aiming at you? ....

Update after 3 weeks, I didn't receive a NIP. I assume that if a speed gun isn't pointing directly at you it doesn't catch you, still, lesson learnt lol.

Not necessarily, Sometimes they'll follow you and stop you, sometimes they don't. you can get police on over bridges of motorways with speed guns, NIP will come in the post, I got nabbed several years ago by a motorbike cop in a farm gate, NIP came in the post.

This is what I'm referring too, speed gun on a bridge over the motorway, I was on an adjacent slip road.

are you sure that it was a speed gun & not traffic flow monitoring e.g. TrafficMaster?
