French speeding ticket arrived to UK address today

Hi folks.
Had one of the above arrive in the post today.
Have been flashed in my French car before and obviously had a ticket to my French address.
In the past have been flashed by cameras in our UK reg cars,but never heard anymore about it.
Not anymore it seems. My wife E Pace was flashed about 10 days ago.
Anybody any advise?
Pay it ?Ignore it?.

Interesting Q - how much is the cheapest 'personalised' plate, plus any admin fees, in comparison to the fine? Just wondering whether it could be cheaper to simply change your reg plate before your next visit... Had one of the above arrive in the post today.

We've been receiving many of these for many months - there was some legislation that took force early last year I think, that allowed EU member states to share keeper information to pursue driving penalties.
We have replied to each one giving details of the operators of the vehicles, but there has been very little comeback on us, or our customers.
It seems that although there is a policy to share data across borders, there isn't a similar mechanism to enforce the collection of fines. They can send a letter, but don't seem to be able to do much if the letter is ignored.
We've had a number of vehicles go back and forth to mainland Europe, and to date none have been impounded for non-payment.

It’s thought that due to the Gilet Jaunes damaging speed cameras the staff at Nantes are having a clear up. Friend who lives here but keeps UK reg has just got 5 tickets.

Mate of mine was stopped from getting on the ferry in Amsterdam because of unpaid Dutch fines. These were accrued during multiple trips UK-FRA-BEL-NLD, and were never clocked because of the soft borders. When he tried to get on the ferry though, (effectively a hard Dutch border) his vehicle came up and they had to be paid at the local Dutch Police Station, and proof brought back to the customs booth before he could board.
I don't understand why you don't get stopped at the Chunnel/Calais ferry by the French for the same reasons.

The Rome police/fines dept chased me 18 months later for a parking offence (abandoned car in rome outside hotel for 5 mins whilst we offloaded suitcases. Apparently that big drop off zone was actually a no parking zone for foreigners.
