Speeding in France

How enforceable are French speeding fines got one through from October 2018 99 kph in a 90 kph limit but they are treating it as 94kph with a 45 euro fine, should I pay?
Not sure where it was in France or if I was actually speeding

They know who you are, and where you live. Changing cars isn't necessarily going to fool them

but as I said, I'd just pay the thing.

Must say I know the new limits, the difficulty of spotting where the limits change are issues but nobody should get flashed in France. They put up a sign warning you the cameras coming for goodness sake.
Just remember that there's no margin and that the Gendarmes are very sneaky indeed with the hand held traps

If this is true (and I'm not doubting it) then I could buy a secondhand car, take it to France and get done for the previous owners unpaid fine!

When I was handed a (roadside, and immediate) three month ban a couple of years ago, the car was entirely welcome to continue its journey with a different driver, but I could only be a passenger.

It certainly felt like the car had been let off, and it was me that carried the can.

I'd just pay up for the ease; The French are known for speeding sense of humour failures - Much better than it coming back to haunt you should you visit again, however unlikely that may seem at the moment.

Thats true but you were present, held accountable and banned (in France) for a period of time. In a postal charge they hold the owner of the car responsible , unless you tell them different, so if the car changes on your next trip they will not flag it up if you get stopped but no guarantees.
And , yes, I reckon an undischarged penalty on a subsequently purchased car may well get flagged if you encounter Les Gendarmes on a visit.

That would be a bummer !
