Insured my Eunos Roadster a couple of days ago, spoke to a lady in India, went through all the details very carefully, asked if the call was taped she said yes, as I did not need to fill in a proposal form this taped conversation acted instead of, when I gave her the reg number she told me it was a Mazda MX5 registered in 1999 I corrected this and told her it was an imported car manufactured in 1992 but imported in 1999 she said ok this is not a problem, when we came to security issues she said, was it fitted with an "approved immmobiliser" I said no, not an approved one, but it did have one that was in working order, but I could not identify it, again she assured me it was no problem.
When we had finished I went back to the two items that I had queried earlier and asked her to repeat that there was no problem with the differing details that I had given her [each one was mentioned by name]and again I asked her to confirm that the call was taped as I did not want to have problems over any misunderstandings with these issues later,
she again reasured me that everything was fine!

You have guessed it,, when the policy document came through I have a 1999 Mazda MX5 fitted with an approved immobiliser.
Am I safe, what would you do??????

nuke India.

disclaimer: in no way a racist comment only I have to deal with these feckers every day and they are bloody useless. Take note Mr Norwich Union.

Muncher is right, but I'd suggest fecking off India and ringing someone in the UK about it.

Deffo get them to re-issue amended documents. Take it from me (as someone who has had major chew with insurance companies) that you have to be a real PITA when it comes to checking fine (and not so fine) print.
Don't let it pass.

Quite True, insurance companies don't need a great deal of encouragement to avoid paying out
