Now I am sure that you are all getting bored of this now, but yet again another one. This time at J16 on the M4 - in the speed camera zone. Six car pile up affected westbound but also eastbound tailbacks. Friday evening and caused chaos....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/4567461.stm

Probable cause? Weather. It was bad rain and visibility was poor. Well, at least they werent speeding. That means they were safe doesnt it? Speed kills after all....

Those cameras don't seem to be performing their "magic" do they?

It's almost as if the term "safety" camera was bullsh1t.

That is the danger isn't it?

Some Pratt who thinks they know what road safety is about places cameras somewhere where speed has nothing to do with the accidents in that area and people get bored of hearing about accidents.

I don't know if the rate has gone up or down since the introduction - but we must be very clear the problem has not gone away despite their "Best Efforts, and may have got worse.

When are these pratts going to be returned to the job queue where they belong (before they end in court on manslaughter charges which is where I think they belong)

Cheers

Well the obvious next step will be to lower the speed limit. Easy isn't it.

Ah, no 'corporate murder' bill this Parliament ... despite promises nine years ago, repeated since! Another convenience from BLiar ... do you think his corporate cronies have persuaded him against it? Or is he hoping for loads of directorships in his (not too distant I hope) retirement, and with the threat of indictment as a war criminal hanging over him he doesn't want to add the potential for a corporate murder/manslaughter charge too?

Cynic, moi? Mais, non!
