Euro parking want to take me to court

I parked in a residents car park while i nipped to the chippy. Come back to a PCN. Ignored them and the value of the "fine" went up and up then down and down. Now they have issued county court. They have written to me to say "you will note we intend to request a special direction that the case be dalt with on the papers and without the need for an oral hearing".

Can I have it heard at my local court if I want to? They have asked me to make them an offer. It was my wifes car but i was driving it, but they dont know that. Shall I write back and make them an offer for the original ticket or tell them to 0121 do one and see if they will take it to court?

A lot of these fkers rely on people like my mum who would just pay straight away.

Then the local dentist pimped their car park to ANPR enforcement and my wife didn't register the car when she visited, she had an appointment. Fine was £100 and the parking company wouldn't uphold the appeal dispite having evidence. Currently in appeal with poplar and we've changed dentists.

In your case, I'd pay the fine if I'm guilty.

I really, really don't get that. You go to a place of business like that, it's obvious you were there having work done - which wouldn't be cheap - and they then feel the need to fine you because you didn't register the car? Do the dentist not want customers?

I really, really don't get that. You go to a place of business like that, it's obvious you were there having work done - which wouldn't be cheap - and they then feel the need to fine you because you didn't register the car? Do the dentist not want customers?

When the wife went back to get evidence, another customer was doing the same. The dentist even told me they have no authority over their own car park! They've written a letter for me as evidence, so hopefully poplar will see sense.

Serves you right. I have to put up with clowns like you stealing the space I own all the time. If I come in from work, I just park across them so they have to ring the number on my van, and make them wait a couple of hours before I let them out. Kept one idiot blocked in 'til the following morning after he gobbed off at me. How would you like it if I turned up where you live and parked on your drive? In effect, same thing.

I'm wi' Heaveho on this. Residents don't get parking spaces for free. They buy, or rent them as part of the cost of living there. So when some "I'm only going to be two minutes" dhead rocks up and parks in their space, then ends up in a 15 minute queue at a busy chip shop, the resident has to park eleswhere then come back out to move their car into their own space after the lazy dhead has gone.

It's exactly like if some throbber parks on, or obstructing your driveway or garage. It's not on. Not ever. Unless you're driving a big white van with blue flashing lights and someone is in danger of dying there's pretty much zero excuse for parking like an over-entitled selfish halfwit.

I have trouble bringing myself to park behind our local cycle shop. The car park belongs to a bookies, but the bike shop owner has assured me that there is an agreement with the bookies to allow his customers to park there. But i'd rather not take the chance, and prefer to park in a properly marked on-street parking bay with a 1 hour limit just around the corner. That's because I'm considerate, and like to avoid causing a pinch-point by parking on the main road outside the shop, or inconveniencing the bookies by filling up one of their customer spaces too.

But hey? If you think it's just dandy to park without permission on someone else's property, then who am I to judge? After all, it can't be that much of an issue if it's only you doing it and it's genuinely "only for a couple of minutes boss". But the fact that a parking enforcement company has been contracted to administer the site suggests, though, that other options (such as polite notices) have failed to prevent nuisance parking, and that nuisance parking is quite prevalent. So you, and folk like you, who have no respect for the property and privacy of others, have made this rod for your own backs. No fishy pun intended.
