NIP for red light jumping

Received one of these. Photos clearly show red light, our car over the line then proceeding, still on red, to go further forward and turn right. So pretty much bang to rights with no argument, as I explained to my wife who was driving.
My question is whether there is an option to do an awareness course like for speeding in these instances? Or is it an automatic 3 points and fine?

I was offered a "what's driving us" course via AA Drivetech for a similar misdemeanor.

It depends how long after red you went through.

I had one a few years ago and I think the NIP offered it at that time.

Depending on where you live you may get the option of a driver awareness course. My partner went on one earlier this year when she jumped a red light in London. She actually said it was quite good, but she jumped a red light the day after the course despite me pointing the red light out to her well in advance so they don't work

My son has just received one and has opted for a course.

Pretty sure I did the same thing this morning. Not a major city though. Very tired, not concentrating yet is was a location known to me on a daily basis for nearly 40 years.
Am wondering though if EVERY traffic light in every town/city has a camera.
Licence is clean but was given a warning note for speeding about 2 years ago & advised my transgression would be taken into account if stopped again (I assume for any offence).

With the amount of people I see blatantly running reds now i very much doubt many traffic lights have cameras.

There are a total of 18 red light cameras in Bristol which must be hugely a minority.

My mate has the same thing happen to him. AFAIK, as long as you've not had a SAC in the past 36 months and a cleanish licence you're likely to get to choose whether you wants points + fine or SAC. It's more revenue for the govt., but be warned, it's the most boring, condescending 4 hours of your life.

Most on here would find it tedious as it's telling us things we already know as we treat driving and cars as a hobby, but many drivers have forgotten most of the highway code and the course refreshes a lot of the basics such as traffic light sequencing, what to do when emergency vehicles approach, how to indicate on roundabouts etc. My partner is not what you would call interested in driving or cars so sees it as a chore and has a lot of bad habits as a result. She found the course actually quite helpful.... I kept my mouth firmly shut when she told me about it (except for the red light incident the next day).... she doesn't like me heckling too much anyway on the driving front and telling her she should already have known all the things on the course probably wouldn't have gone down well
