Has anybody else from down here seen the ad? Just watched it and was appalled at the comparision of wht would you rather see, flowers as a momorial, or a gatso. Fair enough the gatso would have it, but after recent findings that cameras do not infact save lives at all it is discusting that this comparrison is being made. Anyone who lives in this area will know about the recent explosion of camera sites, yet there has been an increase in accidents. If the thousands of pounds spent on cameras were actually spent on road safety, ie making changes to a number of horrendously design junctions they could actually save the lives the claim to be trying to save. End of rant.

www.asa.org.uk/asa/how_to_complain/

As you've seen it, it is your duty to complain..... Make sure you complain about factual innacuracies, as these are what get the adverts banned, not just the fact that you don't like it.

www.safespeed.org if you need any stats. Perhaps worth a post in their forum first to find the best way to defeat them

Just do it

Unfortunately, as we are all aware, it's not one or the other, it's both, just often not in the same place.

I take it that's going to be the basis of your complaint?

The basis of my complaint was that at some of the camera sites on the roads listed in the ad casualties had increased

In a news report on the radio today down here there was a representative from the wiltshire scameraship, and her message was all drivers who break the speed limit are dangerous.

This is the reply I got:

Thank you for submitting your complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.

We have passed your complaint to our Complaints team. A Complaints Handler will assess your complaint and will reply in full as soon as possible.

Please quote this reference number in any correspondence: ******
I'll keep you posted as to what they say. I think everyone should be writing in to them, as the more complaints they get, the more chance there is of getting it banned

It is truly a disgrace to attempt to imply that if the camera were there then the flowers would not be. The attempt at a connection is almost subliminal, it's not actually stated (is it?).

I would rather see properly trained drivers on every road not cameras at historical sites.

safety camears reduce casualties

Can the complaint be based on the fact that scamerships' own stats show this not to be the case?
