FPN Issued to Funeral Limo

I am not sure how this one will pan out so let's hear the juries thoughts.
Last Friday, as part of my P/T job I was driving my employers Stretched E class Merc Limousine. This vehicle is 6m long.
I had to take the vehicle to a funeral directors where parking is extremely limited, and no on street parking was available.
So I parked in a short say council car park about 40 yards from the branch. A location we have often been forced to use before in these circumstances.
I came back to the car about an hour later to find it had been issued a ticket for 'not parking wholly within the marked bay'
Because, of course of the length of the overhang at the back.
I am going to appeal, and I wonder if anyone would care to predict the outcome.

Rightly or wrongly I suspect you'll lose. Things like this are something of a judgement call and the outcome may well be dependent on who reviews the appeal. You may end up with someone who can apply a degree of pragmatism or alternatively you might end up with someone who enforces the letter of the law. Alternatively it could be something of a warning shot; if you've been using this car park before then perhaps they're fed up with the loss of revenue from losing the use of a space.

king brutal then TBH. Got to be a bit of a bell to issue that ticket!What did the regs say on the board in the car park? If there was no board then I'd suggest you have a chance. There was one chap where I used to live whose brand new Mondeo estate was a fraction too long for the marked bay and got ticketed. There was no other bay affected. He complained to the local authority and it was pulled. I don't know what his argument was.

Really? Funeral processions normally have a hearse followed by a number of other cars, sometimes LWB variants.
With the sensitive nature of the job, every dedicated funeral car I've seen has a privacy screen between the driver and the people in the back.

What if he just had a long car and parked there? What would the view be then?
Not sure comments about business vehicle have any merit. Person who issued the ticket couldn’t know the vehicle was being used on business, plus I can’t recall parking a vehicle used for business being a typical restriction in a free car park.
