New Speed Cameras A45

The rubber strips part is a traffic survey; Have a look - The information that can be worked out using them is quite impressive, and it can include approximations of speed - However, It cannot (And has never), to my knowledge, been used for prosecution.
Sometimes they even come with little signs to that effect so people don't destroy them.

There's recently been some new speed cameras put up on the A45 from the miller and carter up to the mcdonalds in coventry. Does anyone know how they actually work because its just 2 strips of rubber on the ground and what looks like an average camera?
Can't say I've noticed this ... I drive up/down there a few times a week .. I'll look later on way back from LeicesterOh right because there is actual cameras next to them now and they've also put up new 40MPH camera signs that are slightly smaller than the usual ones. Only noticed them tuesday so assuming thats when they first went up. Annoying as its a road that when clear doesn't really need to be a 40 but oh well...

I guess that means that av speed cameras are on the way at some point

Annoying but oh well its only a couple minutes added to the commute in reality. To be fair, Coventry has had quite a sensible approach to speed enforcement, and traffic in general. There is only two sets of speed cameras in the city, all other fixed cameras were decommissioned years ago.
They've also removed most of the bus lanes.
