I have just submitted a question to Northumbria SCP. They have used (as predicted) the death of David Cameron on Stamfordham Road in Newcastle to justify scamera placement. This is taken from their website
Within months of David's death, the safety camera partnership began visiting this area with mobile enforcement vans in an effort to drive down speeds and do everything in our power to stop another family from suffering a similar tragedy.
I have issues with this.

1) I drive that stretch of road at least once a day and have not once seen a scamera van.

2) Two miles further along the that road (in a 30 on a steep hill, naturally) I have regularly seen a scamera van. I have asked them why this is the case.

3) If scams make such a positive contribution to safety (their claim, obviously), then why did it take "months" to provide enforcement?

Chances of reply?

Excellent chance of a reply, I'd say.

It will be written in tortured, scrappy English with poor grammar. Perhaps more seriously, it will spin, dodge, evade, fudge and duck the question.

After all, I'm still waiting for an answer from Wiltshire and Swindon Camera Partnership telling me something very simple indeed - the causes of the accidents that led to the M4 cameras being placed.

If they find that a tough question to answer, they sure as hell won't manage yours.

I've always wondered why, if these partnerships are so keen on education, why don't they forgo their 60 quid for some driver education in exchange ?

They *never* want to make the swap.

Strange that, isn't it?
