Ticket refund.
Discussion
I bought a family ticket to take my grandkids to a show at the Edinburgh Festival paying cash.
Just before we went in they decided they didn’t want to see it (typical kids but no point dragging them in)
I then asked for a refund barely 10 minutes after buying them and was told ‘no refunds’
I wrote to customer services and the said they have a policy of no refunds or exchanges which is fair enough.
However they say that this is pointed out when the tickets are purchased ...which it most definitely wasn’t. And there were no signs saying this either.
Now a refund would be nice although I doubt whether I’ll get one but what is the legal position?

Having investigated further you are correct I wasn’t entitled to a refund.
However it wouldn’t cost much to either print it on the ticket or stick a bit of paper on the wall.
In its place I got the pleasure of going to the Angry Birds film

You wouldn’t see it on the tickets until you'd paid for them, would you?
Why not just tell the kids where they’re going?

Why do you feel your entitled to a refund?
Unless you was mis-sold i don't see why they should refund.
Just because most big businesses refund purchases for good will doesn't mean they legally have to.

Do you think that people selling tickets should give a refund just because the person that bought them changed their mind? Let's do a PH example - how would you feel if somebody bought a car off you and then turned round and said they had buyer's remorse and wanted a refund? If you're sane, you'd tell them to jog on - once the deal's been done a buyer has no right to unwind it 'just because'.

Could have just tell the kids they are going and see the film another time?

Buy tin of beans at shop. Take tin of beans back ten minutes later and ask for refund. Assistant asks what's wrong with them. Nothing, you reply. You are then invited to jog on.
Most supermarkets would actually give you your money back. Not sure about smaller independents though. Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
