They, and any other staff can be declared ‘persona non grata’. So much for the ‘special relationship’; a one-way street as usual.
This has some useful information.
"Dependents of Service Staff are not afforded any immunity or inviolability."
So, "diplomat" gets immunity. "Wife of diplomat" does not get immunity... Which is probably why she fled, absconded, did a runner. Obviously it's very easy to get an extradition order from the US so they'll just do that.

If there's enough publicity she might get a slap on the wrists.
