A bit of advise please.

I hope someone on here maybe be able to ease my mind a little. I have just married my wife last Sunday and we are trying to purchase the house from the ex husband he is not communicating with us in any way and we are thinking of court proceedings. We have been very badly advised by our previous solicitor in that she knew we were going to marry but didn’t tell us that it would be hard to bring court proceedings once we were married. Our new solicitor has said that we can it will just be more expensive. We have been paying the mortgage for the last two years and have not missed any payments, he has since contributed nothing in the last two years. Both names are still on the joint mortgage. I’m worried that she might lose her entitlement to any of the house. Any advise would be gratefully received. Thank you.

This. The scenario you describe is one in which a car forum is the very last place where you should seek advice. Most family lawyers are rubbish, but the few good ones are in or near London. They are expensive. I can recommend a good one in Reading.
