Car repair responsibility
Discussion
Having purchased a car last month with a 12 month warranty, three issues have come to light..all within the first week or two.
Firstly the centre support bearing on the propshaft is gone, causing vibration when accelerating, the crank pulley is well out of shape (very wobbly) and the nsf strut top is knocking away.
Having been in touch with the dealer, I've been told that non of these items would be under warranty as they are wear and tear items?
My question is, does the dealer have a responsibility to rectify these issues with it being so close to purchase, or is it on me to stump up for the repairs and labour?
They have offered "a contribution" but I've no idea what that will be, and will likely still leave me out of pocket.
Any advice appreciated.

What's the age/cost of the vehicle?
Did you not notice any of these problems when you test drove and inspected it?
If it's a cheap car, with a cheap warranty, then no chance. But after less than a month you'd have to guess the faults were there when you bought it (unless you've been particularly rough with the vehicle).

15.5k for a 6.0 VXR8, the crank pulley was wobbly within the first week, I hadn't noticed it when I bought it, but it's low down in the bay and I'm not a mechanic. I saw it within the week and got it checked by a garage, who recommended it be changed.
The prop issue again is only intermittent and I didn't have the change to accelerate hard in 1st or 2nd on test drive. It's fine when in higher gears.
I haven't been rough on the car, especially because of these issues being present so soon after the purchase

They are correct it is not a warranty item, however, the onus is on them to prove the fault was not there at the point of sale, highly unlikely in this case. Tell them to get it fixed at their expense, either at their location or at a local garage to you. Keep at it, you may need to threaten court action at some point.

How did you get from not being a warranty item to definately being a fault? You're looking at a car thats, what, 12-ish years old? Where is the dividing line between a bit worn and faulty?
Isn't the relevant issue reasonable expectation?
Looking on various owners forums of the different versions of this vehicle they are all pretty common faults due to wear and tear.
They are a pretty meaty car with plenty of torque so rubber connections , bushes and couplings take a pounding . Any specialist worth their salt should have inspected these components. I would be looking for a proper inspection by an independent specialist of the type to see what else has been missed .
Especially on the steering system and drive train particularly the rear axle and drive shafts .
Compatible parts are available in the U.S. at very competitive prices if you're prepared to do your research .
