Right,

This place is swarming with talivans so if I want to keep my licence and get some sleep I'm going to need a jammer.

I've heard good things about the Blinder M10 (also known as the Blinder twin.

The thing is, I can't justify 280 odd quid on one.

however I have seen them advertised on ebay for 90 quid which I'd be prepared to splash out on.

How come they're so cheap on ebay? Is it just a case of the RRP being based on what people are prepared to pay rather than the cost of manufacture. Considering you can buy a HDD mp3 player for about 100 quid I don't see how a jammer can be 200+ its all just electronics after all.

Most of the laser units around here are talivans which means I won't get my collar felt if I set one off by accident (I'd never set it off intentionally).
I have been hearing worrying stories about the cops visiting your house later on though. I wouldn't have thought they'd have time, what with all the real criminals they are supposed to be chasing.
Are there any truths to these stories.

Any help/guidance appreciated.

Andy

I fancy a jammer as well but a bit of muck on your plate can help. It certainly reduces the odds of receiving the nip.

There, do seem to have been the stories of somewhat heavy-handed police inspections, although did they relate to someone repeatedly passing a scamera, and blocking it, leaving the cops little choice but to inspect ?
Either way, with a million or so jammers fitted throughout UK, it might take police some time to chase evryone down.

E-bay seems a source of stock i've seen them on there at £100+
seems about right, they are designed to be switched off from steering wheel in the event of going off thus allowing scamera to re-target car, which will by then have slowed to sppeed limit (hopefully)

Because the £60 ones on ebay don't work at all be warned They appear to look like the originals, come in the same box etc, but DEFINATELY do not work at all.

Snoopers ones are rather good at opening garage doors

What you need is a laser jammer that is only active above a limit, is there such a thing? I.e. linked to a gps system.

So if these ebay units are fakes, how come the ebayer gets good feedback?

I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just wondering.

Having looked at the M10 it consists of two huge units which would be near impossible to hide on my car.

A far better soloution would be the tiny emmitter that comes with the Target LRC100.
But that comes with a scary price tag.

These work fine, just lose the two transponders behind radiator grill, about 2' apart pop the buzzer loose behind dashboard, thats it

(apparently, although I would'ent know anything about that sort of thing clearly)

Economies of scale. mp3 players are mass consumer market, and development cost gets spread very widely. Not so true for a laser jammer.

(a friend) bid on one recently - the model shipped was the M-6, not the M-10. The boxes are the same but the M-6 is not a detector - it transmits constantly. No Buzzer etc etc. These were discontinued in 1999 and do not block the new lasers. My friend returned it and bought the LE30.....

Who's to know they don't work? (you need me to find that out) if it was delivered on time why not leave good feedback.
