Every motoring magazine rates these as the best detectors so i decided to invest.
However the local halfrauds were less than helpfull as to how it works and what equipment i need to suport it but they were quite willing to sell it to me on finance anyway!:banghead:
Does anyone have one? are they that good? What do i need to use it?:headache:

You don't need anything to support it, apart from a car and a PC. It plugs into the cigar lighter socket, but can be hard-wired for neatness.

It works by comparing your position (determined by its GPS engine) to its database of speed cameras and blackspots. When it determines that you are approaching a blackpsot or a camera, it sounds an alarm and the screen goes red.

You should update it weekly by plugging it into a computer conected to the internet.

It is that simple.

There are a few reviews on PH, which may be helpful.

FWIW my review is here

As Zod says, all you need is a ciggie lighter and a PC with internet access...

I believe they now do a Road Angel 2 without the laser detector (which is the bit they are trying to ban).

Ive bought 3 over the past year (for family) and got mine off eBay for about £275, but I had to try a couple of auctions until I got them at those prices.

Had mine about 12 months. For the 1st time since I had it forgot to take it with me one day last week and ended up getting flashed by a camera

I've got a RA Classic, plus two laser detectors, one front, one rear, some people doubt their effectiveness but I like to know when someone points a laser at me. They've gone off a couple of times, braked hard, with no respect for those following me, nothing's come of it yet.

I think a Road Angel makes you much more aware of your speed.

I'm thinking about a jammer to go with it, but I've not plucked up the courage yet.

Hi There

Sorry I missed your reply. One, the front one, plugs into the back of the RA Classic as usual. There's another socket on the side of the laser thing to allow us to daisy chain two together. I connected mine together using an extension lead made up from components available from Maplins as the plugs are smaller than normal audio jacks.

The rear one's saved me at least once, plus it looks cool. If they ban 'em I'm working on a simple way to build 'em into the body of the car so they aren't so conspicuous.

Any Idea's welcome.

I have a cyclops dector (GPS) costs between £300-400 (although I didnt pay this thanks to markmullen), couple this with a couple of jammers and id say you have 360 protection...
