UKPC?

Hi guys,

Fathers received a UKPC fine through the door but its titled "Final Warning" and demanding £100- First time we've received this and I'm not entirely sure if we've received the first letter they sent out. The pictures they've provided is not showing the full windshield from the front. If it did, it would've shown the blue badge on the sun visor - which he had down.


What's the best course of action now? I've heard about these things to just be ignored but im not exactly sure.

Is the alleged transgression for parking in a disabled bay without displaying the blue badge?

No, just a usual parking spot. They were in the car so there would be no use to use a disabled bay.

Is the fine for not paying for parking then? A blue badge doesn't negate the need to pay does it?

No, he exceeded the maximum stay. I was under the impression it does? I'm not entirely sure what are the boundaries in regards to a blue badge.

Ah, dunno. I've definitely seen car parks where it's specifically pointed out that disabled parking still needs a ticket.

Why mention the blue badge then?

You also state they were sitting in the car when the photo was taken. Did they not ask why?

I mentioned the blue badge because I was under the impression you cannot ticket a blue badge holder unless they exceed the 2 hour limit (if im wrong, I would love for someone to let me know). No questions asked to why they were sitting in the car.

My mistake, misunderstood you. It was through CCTV, they had no idea about the fine up until this point.

Blue badge rules only apply to Council operated parking. Private land comes under the Equalities Act.

Private parking must provide facilities for those that require it, but the user still needs to comply with the terms under which they are parked (assuming they do not breach the Equalities Act).

My question as to whether UKPC have lawful right to demand payment. If so, any chance they will reduce back to the first sum since we didn't receive the first one?

A bit confusing with the drip fed info.

There will be terms and conditions up some where in the car park probably saying it’s £100 fine for overstaying and a discounted rate for quick payment.

Are you sure the first demand didn’t arrive ?

Maybe ask UKPC about the first letter ?
