GAME complaints / refunds...(iPhone)

Can anyone throw any light on this...

I ordered an iPhone from GAME the other day, it was graded as "pristine". It's arrived, but it's completely scratched and rubbish, however on my receipt I've noticed it says that this order was "Sold and Fulfilled By OG Exclusives London".

As far as I knew, I was on GAME's website and the payment I made went to them... but the smallprint I'm reading now (yeah, I know... I should have read it before!!!) seems to suggest I need to create and account with GAME and then find a way to talk to whoever seems to have sold me the iPhone.

Anyone had similar?

Log a complaint with the shop you bought it from. It's their responsibility. Scratched and battered is obviously not pristine.

How come you went through Game for this? Just curious!

I was just Googling around for refurbished iPhones and GAME offered one at £200, with the grading "Pristine" - and like a muppet, I thought that "Pristine" was a much better bet than grades A, B, C etc.

I suspect there's better places to shop...

So... the payment I made was to GAME via PayPal, but they are now saying this about "marketplace" -

""with marketplace item these are sold and fulfilled by the seller of the item so the contract is with the seller of the specific item but we facilitate the platform for the sale""

This seems odd to me, as (perhaps stupidly) I just thought I was buying from GAME.

If it’s mail order you have 14 days under distance selling regs to return it for full refund.

If GAME are just a broker then they’re no more responsible for the condition of items sold on their marketplace than eBay are.

Having never used them for something like this (I didn’t even realise they did this until this post) I can’t speak to how obvious this is on their website, though I’d be amazed if they didn’t have T&Cs you had to agree to before buying.

A PayPal dispute might be your only option.

It does say "Fulfilled by AcmePhones" or whatever on most items, but the over riding branding and wording looks like you are buying from Game.

Perhaps an Amazon type setup where they are allowing other companies to share the platform, however I think you should go back to Game in the first instance.

return it under 14 days, contact game, don't contact anyone else. Your contract is with game.

Surely if you paid via PayPal you simply raise a significantly not as described claim and follow their process?
